Ten appendages for the tenth squid fact. Let’s go over the basics:
Squid have ten appendages. Of those ten, eight are arms and two are tentacles.
Arms
Squid have eight arms, which is four times as many as (most) humans. These arms are arranged in a ring around their mouth. They are equipped with suckers all along them and they are relatively short compared to the tentacles.
Tentacles
The two tentacles are longer, typically retractable, and located between their arms. They have suckers on the ends and can be extended rapidly to capture prey.
So yeah, technically the squid in our logo isn’t 100% anatomically correct, but he does look cool, right?
